Guid day madam, with humyll thanks also,
That me unto your ludgeing lairge did gyd.
Yea, skairs I knew quhan I thairin din go
Quhair I sould wend, the wallis war so wyd.

Thocht than I slippit, quhan ye bad me byd,
Excuise my part, the falt was not in me;
Your pathed pathment meid my paessis slyd,
That I was forst to bow upon my kne.

Bot yit I thank you of your ludgeing frie,
I grant in deid ye hold ane oppine port,
Bot inexpert I am to swym the sie,
Quhilk flows on bordor of your brod resort,

Quhairin I wat is furnissing but dout
