Why, all the Saints and Sages who discuss'd
Of the Two Worlds so learnedly, are thrust
Like foolish Prophets forth; their Words to Scorn :
Are scatter'd, and their Mouths are stopt with Dust.
Wie kann es sein, dass man dem weisen Haupt,
das die zwei Welten lehrt, so blindlings glaubt,
verhöhnt sein Wort doch auch den eignen Mund,
der auch verfällt. Er füllt sich bald mit Staub.
